This is how it all started…

Born, Matthew Robert Clyma Gooderson in the industrial town of Dartford, Matt’s father, Richard, a guitarist, and music-loving social worker mother Janet, brought Matt up with a deep love of everything from the field recordings of Alan Lomax to bluesman Junior Kimbrough and jazz giant John Coltrane, via Mike Oldfield and Tina Turner. Matt’s older sister, Sara, was born profoundly disabled and was unable to see, walk or talk, yet demonstrated sheer joy when listening to music. Thus, the power of music to instil elation and forge connection was made abundantly clear. Matt’s path was set.

As an educator and academic, Matt is set on helping others with their creativity and researching music with A.I.
